Procurement

PROCUREMENT

  • Prepare tendering and procurement documents
  • Identify and procure strategic project materials
  • Prepare lists of bidders based on project location and availability of local suppliers
  • Coordinate requests for proposals with a single point of contact between the internal technical team and external bidders
  • Conduct a business assessment based on fabrication capacity, solvency, transportation costs, currency, warranties, subcontracting, respect for schedules, cross value, etc.
  • Make technical and business recommendations in a single document for coordination between the Engineering and Procurement teams to provide the best quality/price ratio
  • Issue purchase orders on the client’s behalf
  • Coordinate all changes with the Project Control team based on budgets
  • Oversee settlement of back charges

LOGISTICS

  • Select the freight forwarder, warehousing and muster yard
  • Coordinate with freight forwarder regarding warehousing areas

EXPEDITING

  • Monitor procurement and expediting
  • Organize and conduct kick-off meetings after contract award
  • Oversee expediting of supplier and engineering drawings based on the schedule for contract documents and projects
  • Oversee monitoring of manufacturers’ fabrication schedules
  • Coordinate deliveries to job sites and assist the Construction team at the job site
  • Coordinate transportation with the freight forwarder and carriers
  • Manage closure of procurement packages based on criteria in contract documents and potential claims

CONTRACT FORMULATION (CONSTRUCTION AND SERVICES)

  • Prepare lists of bidders based on contractor location, location of contract execution and the type of contracts to be carried out
  • Coordinate requests for proposals with a single point of contact between the internal technical team and external bidders
  • Coordinate and organize any job site visits
  • Conduct a business assessment based on capacity to perform work, solvency, cost of performance bonds, health and safety record, respect for schedules, claims reputation, hourly rates, work schedule, and the effect of exceptions to the contract
  • Make technical and business recommendations in a single document for coordination between the Engineering and Procurement teams to provide the best quality/price ratio
  • Suggest legal clauses the client should include based on work location
  • Award contracts
  • Coordinate and conduct kick-off meetings
