PROJECT DESCRIPTION

BBA optimized the copper and zinc circuits of Agnico-Eagle's La Ronde Mine located in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec. BBA's multidisciplinary team realized the conceptual study as well as the preliminary and detailed engineering related to the project, and provided technical assistance during the construction phase.

 

In collaboration with the client, BBA adopted a global solution and worked to optimize the quantity of concentrate extracted from the ore.

 

The team performed the following activities: 

  • Process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Mass balance
  • 6% increase in copper concentrate recovery
  • 4% increase in zinc concentrate recovery
  • Improvement of the zinc content
  • Operation cost reduction for the cyanidation process
