PROJECT DESCRIPTION

From the beginning of the project until its completion, BBA was actively involved in the construction of the Varreux II plant located in Haiti. The plant includes a six (6) diesel generator sets with a total installed capacity of 24 MW. The amount of power produced by the plant provides enough electricity for one third of the Haitian capital. Throughout the project, BBA was responsible for the detailed engineering, plant automation, construction supervision, and commissioning. BBA's mandate included:

• Implementation of the management system for heavy and light fuels
• Definition of the electrical measuring units and communication system
• Design of a control room for the operating personnel of the diesel generator sets and fuel management systems
• Configuration of the data acquisition and status reporting system
• Installation of the communication system between the control room, the generator sets PLC, the fuel systems, and the measuring systems
