PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project, which involved the power supply of the Raglan mine's expansion project, was a review and optimization of the mine's energy production, distribution and management. Modifications made to the electric and thermal energy production and distribution system also had to be reviewed to allow for the mine's production capacity increase to 1.5 Mtpa or 2.6 Mtpa.

  • Development of energy production, transmission and distribution scenarios
  • Selection of an optimal scenario
  • Assessment of capital and operating costs (CAPEX and OPEX)
  • Development of a summary schedule for the entire expansion project as well as a detailed schedule for the subsequent phase (prefeasibility study)
  • Review of technical elements and alternatives requiring a more in-depth analysis
  • Development of work plans for the prefeasibility study
