PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Following the conceptual study for spiral replacement, BBA was mandated to perform the feasibility study of the new process introducing new spirals and hindered settling classifiers. BBA was also mandated to carry out a metallurgical audit to review reports, tests and pilot plant results used to develop the new process. The main project guidelines consist of the following:

  • 3D general arrangement including all equipment and major piping
  • Pump and piping preliminary sizing
  • Integration strategy to minimize impact on operations
  • Existing equipment and piping evaluation of the new process
  • Variable speed pumping study comparing VFD and hydrodynamic coupling
  • Structure analysis for new equipment installation
