PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Several major projects were carried out in energy efficiency for Molson's five breweries. All the projects were identified following an in-depth energy analysis. The project phases were established according to an energy master plan provided by BBA.
- 35 specialized energy audits in five Canadian breweries
- Establishment of measuring strategy and accomplishment of over $14M of energy efficiency projects with an EPCM approach:
- 20% reduction of electricity consumption
- 15% reduction of natural gas consumption
- 750 MWh/year reductions on air compressed systems and process improvement for the Montréal brewery
- 4,835 MWh/year reductions from optimizing control and pumping equipment for ammonium refrigeration systems
- 65,555 MJ/year reductions from steam network, recovery system and replacement of equipment
