PROJECT DESCRIPTION

BBA was responsible for the detailed engineering, programming and commissioning of the new Suriname gold mine construction.

 

The scope of work consisted of the following:

  • Communication networks Ethernet, RIO, Modbus, Modbus TCP, Modicon PLC, IPM Intouch, ABB drive and Allen-Bradley CCM
  • Detailed engineering of instrumentation and automation
  • Transformation process and mill control system drawings
  • Development of programming standards as well as PLC and IPM configuration
  • Complete plant equipment configuration (more than 2,200 I/Os)
  • Pre-operational I/O verification (more than 2,200 I/Os)
  • Commissioning of Suriname plant

BBA also worked on the electrical basic engineering which included the preparation of design criteria, major equipment specifications, equipment technical specifications, as well as equipment control and protection development. The Civil department was also involved in the preparation of layout plans, energy transport line and civil engineering drawings, as well as in the selection of towers and equipment supports.
