PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As subcontractor of Voith Siemens, BBA was responsible for the detailed engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of all electrical services including the 13.8 kV switchgear, the 13.8 kV and 600 V auxiliary services for the new Mercier hydroelectric power plant. BBA's mandate consisted of the following:

Engineering for:

Generator switchgear
Generator protection
Unit service MCC
600 V & 13.8 kV auxiliary services
Control systems for generator units (including speed regulator and excitation regulator)
Auxiliary transformers
Electrical connection of the equipment
Power cables
125 Vcc system
Design of HMI interfaces
All calculation notes, specifications and drawings
Testing and commissioning of electrical systems
Preparation of equipment operation manuals
