PROJECTS DESCRIPTION
The objective of the study was to address the pit optimization and the mining component of the feasibility study the Detour Lake Golf Project, including detailed pit design with final ramp and proper pit slope and benching arrangement, as well as detailed pushback and mine planning.
BBA addressed the reserve and the mining engineering aspects of the project as follows:
- Block model and data transfer and validation
- Economic block mode
- Pit optimization and detailed mine design
- Cut-off grade optimization and dilution calculation
- Mineable ore reserves estimation
- Pit staged design
- Mine planning on annual basis for the first 5 years and by 5-year increment in the subsequent years until depletion of ore reserves
- Waste dumps and stockpiles
- Major mining equipment selection and requirement with respect to annual haulage profiles for loading and hauling
- Support equipment
- Access and mine roads
- Workforce requirements
- Capital and operating costs for mine
- Technical assistance to geotechnical studies and geo-statistical analysis.
