PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In addition to detailed engineering for the Baie-des-Sables wind farm's 230-34.5 kV station, BBA provided on-site technical assistance during construction, commissioned the entire station, and assisted with performance testing before delivering the substation to the client, subject to acceptance by Hydro-Québec.

BBA's team took care of every aspect of the concept, from the single-line diagram to detailed equipment connections, including protection and grounding studies. BBA also reviewed all shop drawings and produced electrical layout drawings, civil engineering drawings, as well as drawings for the external connections of protection panels and equipment. Specifically, the following tasks were performed: 

• Sizing of battery chargers, storage cells, inverter, and low-voltage distribution equipment
• Assistance for shop testing of protection and control panels, as well as major equipment
• Technical assistance to the client for connecting to the TransÉnergie grid
• Technical assistance for construction
• Coordination with the contractor
• Commissioning of all equipment, protection panels and station controls
• Programming and calibration or protective relays.
