Community involvement

At BBA, we understand what community means as well as the importance of doing our share. Social causes, arts and culture are areas in which the firm takes a special interest.

Social causes

United Way/Centraide:
BBA plays a major role in the annual fundraising campaign held by United Way/Centraide, an organization it has supported since 1996. Each year, BBA and its employees contribute to the organization’s various chapters. Since 2010, the participation rate and average amount donated per employee earned BBA a Diamond Seal, the highest distinction awarded by United Way/Centraide to companies in recognition of their remarkable contribution to the community’s well-being. We should add that BBA doubles every dollar donated by its employees.

Héma-Québec:
With an awareness that community engagement also demands concrete action that may save lives, BBA has held a blood donor clinic since 2001 in collaboration with Héma-Québec and other area companies. The blood donor clinic is held at the BBA head office and is open to the public, which consistently shows up in large numbers.

Tour de la Montagne
Since 2010, BBA has financially supported a local bike/run relay race called Tour de la Montagne. The activity raises funds for the Honoré-Mercier Hospital Foundation, which serves the population of Québec’s Montérégie region, where BBA’s head office is located.

Community presence in BBA’s other business locales
From coast to coast, BBA supports organizations that are active in the communities where it operates. The firm supports a number of local organizations, be they involved in sports, education or other fields of endeavour.

Arts and culture

BBA is also actively involved with cultural organizations to support artist development and promote cultural and artistic performances to the general public. Examples include:

Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM)
The OSM has been a partner in BBA’s cultural evenings since the 2001−2002 season. BBA lends its support to the OSM by inviting key clients to enjoy the orchestra’s performances as well.

Chœur de la montagne
BBA has supported this choir from Mont-Saint-Hilaire since 1996. With more than 60 singers, the Chœur de la montagne holds concerts in the Montérégie region and takes part in choral activities internationally, thus contributing to the region’s global notoriety.

Musée des beaux-arts de Mont-Saint-Hilaire
This museum’s mission is to preserve the memory of three of the region’s iconic artists: Jordi Bonet, Paul-Émile Borduas and Ozias Leduc. It also promotes the dissemination of contemporary art to a wide audience by showcasing creators from the region and further afield.
