BBA has been awarded the Pre-Feasibility Study valued at CDN $500,000 by Canada Lithium Corporation for their Quebec Lithium Deposit located 60 km north of Val d'Or, Quebec.
Mont-Saint-Hilaire (Quebec) - November 4, 2009 - BBA is pleased to announce that its Mines and Metals group has been retained by Canada Lithium Corporation (TSXV: CLQ) to complete a Pre-Feasibility Study of their 100%- owned Quebec Lithium deposit, 60 km north of Val d'Or in Quebec. The property hosts a Spodumene (lithium aluminum silicate) deposit that previously supported an underground mine and processing plant for approximately 10 years in the mid-1900s. Canada Lithium is currently advancing the project through a 5,000-metre verification/delineation drill program and various metallurgical studies. Recently, Canada Lithium has produced battery-grade lithium carbonate and has entered into a marketing agreement with Mitsui & Co. Ltd. of Japan.
"BBA is very excited to bring its expertise to the development of this lithium deposit. With the recent development in advanced battery technologies and applications, we are very pleased to lead projects and studies like the one Canada Lithium has just entrusted us with", stated BBA President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Steeve Fiset.
The Pre-Feasibility Study contract, valued at approximately $500,000 includes preliminary engineering of the mine, concentrator, hydrometallurgical plant and project infrastructure. BBA will supervise an integrated team of experts from different firms and also be responsible for preparing a NI 43-101 compliant report. The 4 month study is expected to be completed during the 1st quarter of 2010 and will form the initial step in preparation for a full feasibility study later in the year.
"In choosing BBA we were very impressed with the depth of experience its Mines and Metals group demonstrated", stated Canada Lithium President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Peter Secker. "This is the all-important first step towards developing a new source of battery-grade lithium carbonate to provide security of supply to the emerging North American market for electric and hybrid vehicles."
